On this beautiful feast day of St. Teresa of Avila, reformer of the Carmelites and spiritual mother to the Carmelite monks, we are pleased to share with you the status of our efforts.
With the infrastructure well underway, we now turn our attention to the completion of the blueprints for construction that are necessary to break ground. As we have written previously, the monks and this Board are firmly resolved to build a monastery that will be sustainable, frugal and enduring for future generations. In order to obtain these goals, the assistance of architects and engineers is of the very highest importance.
Despite the generosity and reduced rates of these professional firms, the "soft costs" necessary to complete the design are significant. The next year will require us to be devoted to carefully considering each element of the design and ways in which engineering and technology can assist the monks in maintaining their monastery in the years to come.
We humbly beg for your continued charity on behalf of Fr. Daniel Mary and the Carmelite Fathers and Brothers. This Foundation is in great need of your charity at this time to continue funding the architectural design and corresponding engineering. There are many willing to assist in stone and stained glass, but may the Lord open your heart to assist us in this immediate need to complete the design. We rely upon your prayers and your goodness as no donation is too small; any gift is deeply appreciated.
