In Need of Your Help . . .

On this beautiful feast day of St. Teresa of Avila, reformer of the Carmelites and spiritual mother to the Carmelite monks, we are pleased to share with you the status of our efforts.

With the infrastructure well underway, we now turn our attention to the completion of the blueprints for construction that are necessary to break ground. As we have written previously, the monks and this Board are firmly resolved to build a monastery that will be sustainable, frugal and enduring for future generations. In order to obtain these goals, the assistance of architects and engineers is of the very highest importance.

Despite the generosity and reduced rates of these professional firms, the "soft costs" necessary to complete the design are significant. The next year will require us to be devoted to carefully considering each element of the design and ways in which engineering and technology can assist the monks in maintaining their monastery in the years to come.

We humbly beg for your continued charity on behalf of Fr. Daniel Mary and the Carmelite Fathers and Brothers. This Foundation is in great need of your charity at this time to continue funding the architectural design and corresponding engineering. There are many willing to assist in stone and stained glass, but may the Lord open your heart to assist us in this immediate need to complete the design. We rely upon your prayers and your goodness as no donation is too small; any gift is deeply appreciated.

Thank you for the assistance you have given thus far and for your ongoing charity to this beautiful undertaking for the Lord!

Making Progress towards a New Monastery

The past few months have been particularly blessed for our Foundation thanks to your loving charity! As you will recall, we have been at work for the last year working to transform the solitary, remote property we purchased into a beautiful, contemplative setting for the Carmelite monks.

As with any building project, the first phase is installing all of the infrastructure, that is to say the electricity, the road, the other utilities, and the water well. The solitude of the New Mount Carmel property has made the installation of the utilities all that much more expensive and involved.

Having successfully drilled a good well, and made much progress with the utilities, we have most recently been finishing the rough-in of the road to the building site. Here is a video highlighting the road construction as we make this remote site accessible to future monastery guests like yourselves! Thanks to Roger Koontz, and his sister Sharry Downs of Harris Construction in Cody, Wyoming this work has been able to be completed at a much reduced cost. A very special thanks to all of you for your gifts this past year as we prepare the way towards future groundbreaking!

Touring God's Country

In God's goodness and Mary's maternal love, a gorgeous, solitary and contemplative ranch was purchased by our Foundation nearly one year ago near Meeteetse, Wyoming and the East Gate of Yellowstone National Park.

We are thrilled to be able to welcome you to this New Mount Carmel by giving you a personal tour. Simply click here to accompany Father Daniel Mary as he leads us around this future home of the Wyoming Carmelites and explores the many marvelous ways that this property, a gift from Jesus, Mary and Joseph with your generous assistance, allows the Fathers and Brothers to live their contemplative charism in the midst of God's country.

On behalf of the monks and our Board, welcome to the New Mount Carmel!
